Curiosity has been the common thread throughout my life and career. I’m fascinated by how people learn, connect, and create meaning through the spaces they inhabit, and I believe the best design begins by understanding those human experiences before drawing the first line.
Over the past 12 years, I have led multidisciplinary projects across higher education, cultural, workplace, science and technology, K–12, and public-sector environments. My work spans programming, stakeholder engagement, design strategy, and project delivery, partnering with clients and teams to translate organizational goals into thoughtful, lasting places that support learning, collaboration, and community.
Originally from Harbin, China, I moved to the United States as a teenager, an experience that continues to shape how I see the world. Living between cultures has fostered a deep appreciation for history, storytelling, and the ways our environments influence identity, belonging, and human connection. Those perspectives continue to inform both my design process and my leadership philosophy.
Outside of practice, I enjoy exploring museums and historic places, traveling, reading, birding, and studying the stories embedded within cities and landscapes. I also remain actively involved in the design community through mentoring, teaching, and professional leadership, and I believe that sharing knowledge is one of the most meaningful ways we can contribute to our profession.
For me, design is ultimately about more than creating beautiful spaces. It is about creating places where people feel welcomed, inspired, and connected—and leaving every project, team, and community a little better than we found it.
